Do you really want to have to re-roof again in your lifetime?
Solution: Stone Coated Steel Shingles
Steel shingles that are coated with roofing granules were invented because of consumer’s preferences towards a more "normal looking" steel roof. For decades the industry manufacturers only sold the painted steel we see
on commercial buildings. That has since changed!
Stone Coated Steel Shingles are essentially a formed steel base sheet coated with roofing stone granules to give the panels a more dimensional shingled look. They are available in a wide variety of colors and even more style choices than most asphalt shingle products.
Longevity: You can expect stone-coated steel shingles to last in the order of 50 years or so. Although you may notice granule loss before that depending on weather conditions, without the granules you may still have a watertight roof beyond the rated life of the shingle, (as long as the steel base sheet is intact and not rusted through in any areas).
Special Installation requirements: It can be difficult to work with this type of shingle if you have never done it or only have experience installing traditional asphalt shingles. Most manufactures require or highly recommend a screw down installation to maintain their warranty. Installation times can be significantly greater than that of other roofing products but as you can see it is well worth the wait. In order to get a quality installation to last for the long run it will save you time and money to hire a professional.
Styles: There is a fair variety of colors, shapes, and styles. Above is just one sample. If you would like to see more. Contact us
