Our Roofing Business is Booming and Employees are Needed!
- Most roofers learn their skills informally on the job; some roofers train through 3-year apprenticeships.
- Most job openings will arise from the need to replace those who leave the occupation because the work is hot, strenuous, and dirty, causing many people to switch to jobs in other construction trades.
- Demand for roofers is less susceptible to downturns in the economy than demand for other construction trades because most roofing work consists of repair and re-roofing. (http://job-outlook.careerplanner.com/Roofers.cfm)
1. Be Proactive
Ask what needs to be done as opposed to waiting to be told.
2. Be Reliable
Work when needed and be on time (15 minutes early is always a plus). If you want the hours, BE AVAILABLE. The weather can be trying at times but if you think you can work when others say they can’t, Let Us Know. I know it is tempting to cut out Friday and Saturday but if you want to work when others don’t, let us know! There is plenty of work to be done.
3. Be Professional
We want our team to make us all look good. That means refraining from using language that might not be appropriate when at work and using manners when talking to one of our clients. Remember, you are JR Roofing and what you say and do reflects on not just the company’s name but your coworkers as well.
4. Stand Out
We are always in the process of looking for someone we can trust to become our next Foreman/Supervisor or even Franchise Owner. If you think the job you are on could be improved or done more efficient in anyway, talk to your supervisor.
The rest we can teach you so listen up and don't be afraid to ask questions when you aren't sure of something. We pride ourselves on having in-house trained professional roofers that not just know what they are doing but know the details of why something is done the way it is.
"Every employee has the potential to hone their craft and own their own business." -JR Roofing, LLC
