JR Roofing since inception has striven to be the best at what we do by training our employees directly in house by professionals that have been around for 25 years or more. Having that wealth of knowledge gives a strong sense of pride in the work we do and assurance that we will get the job done right the first time to keep the great long-standing reputation we have for re-roofing and repairs. We have to thank those who have referred us or have chosen us for their next roofing project. We really appreciate your business and are safe to say we will be here when you need us again.

One of the most challenging jobs of owning a roofing company is time management. When roofing season begins, it seems businesses all call at the same time so calling early is very important to get on a popular roofing company's calendar. To be successful our time must be managed and customers must be in constant contact.
Roofing is a highly seasonal trade that must take on a balance of number of employees hired, jobs accepted, and time allotted for those jobs. Within our 25 years of experience we have gained knowledge in all areas. We know it doesn't just take a strong business plan but also lots of communication. We encourage our customers to check in from time to time and we reach out to them as well. We have dedicated office people answering the phones and foremen with answers.
Feel free to contact us to check out our roofing schedule for next year as well. The timeline is already beginning to grow.

According to Wikipedia, The modern American holiday of Mother's Day was first celebrated in 1908, when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother in Grafton, West Virginia. Her campaign to make "Mother's Day" a recognized holiday in the United States began in 1905, the year her beloved mother, Ann Reeves Jarvis, died. Anna’s mission was to honor her own mother by continuing work she had started and to set aside a day to honor mothers, "the person who has done more for you than anyone in the world." Anna's mother, Ann Jarvis, was a peace activist who had cared for wounded soldiers on both sides of the Civil War and created Mother’s Day Work Clubs to address public health issues.
Happy Mother's Day to all the great Mom's out there!
Commercial Roofing is a skill that can be taught and cultivated into a very lucrative form of employment. The entry level is open to anyone that is over the age of 18. We look for a person that is motivated to become our next foreman or someone we can count on showing up everyday on time.
Our Roofing Business is Booming and Employees are Needed!
Highlights For Roofers
Sources say roofing jobs are expected to increase by 3.5% this year. This opens doors to new opportunities in the commercial roofing business. We see no problem with training our next JR Roofing Franchise Owner. We have a successful model that has been passed down from previous owners and has been proven to be successful for many years to come. Every employee has the potential to hone their craft and own their own business.
Ways to get ahead in this position at JR Roofing.
1. Be Proactive
Ask what needs to be done as opposed to waiting to be told.
2. Be Reliable
Work when needed and be on time (15 minutes early is always a plus). If you want the hours, BE AVAILABLE. The weather can be trying at times but if you think you can work when others say they can’t, Let Us Know. I know it is tempting to cut out Friday and Saturday but if you want to work when others don’t, let us know! There is plenty of work to be done.
3. Be Professional
We want our team to make us all look good. That means refraining from using language that might not be appropriate when at work and using manners when talking to one of our clients. Remember, you are JR Roofing and what you say and do reflects on not just the company’s name but your coworkers as well.
4. Stand Out
We are always in the process of looking for someone we can trust to become our next Foreman/Supervisor or even Franchise Owner. If you think the job you are on could be improved or done more efficient in anyway, talk to your supervisor.
The rest we can teach you so listen up and don't be afraid to ask questions when you aren't sure of something. We pride ourselves on having in-house trained professional roofers that not just know what they are doing but know the details of why something is done the way it is.

Stone Coated Steel is a big part of our commercial and residential business. High performance alternatives are demanded by consumers everyday, and metal roofing offers many options. DECRA Roofing Systems provide the highest level of performance in numerous profiles. A 50 year limited warranty, 120 MPH wind warranty and impact resistant from hail damage are just a few of the benefits.
"DECRA is a family of high performance stone coated steel products that offer profiles to meet the needs of discriminating homeowners."
That's not all. DECRA is a very appealing commercial roofing system and is used on many different types of buildings including: Religious, Retail, Municipal, Recreational, Healthcare, Hospitality, and Education to name a few.
I've seen some wild weather patterns but from thunder and lightning to snow in a few days. Looks like March might go out like a lion but who knows the way the weather has been with all the "polar vortexes"! I guess there is one thing you can predict. A roof that needs fixing. Give us a call and let us take a look to make sure your assets are covered.
Ever heard the following sentence? "Its pretty bad up there, I would suggest replacing the entire roof." Chances are, most people that have called a company for a repair have at one point in the service call. When it comes to roofing, we know that is the worst-case scenario and we try to avoid it.
Roofing maintenance and repair is something we do best! We come recommend by numerous businesses. If you don't believe this, just ask us for their phone numbers. "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure," after a roof has been in place for 5-10 years it is a good idea to get your roof examined, cleaned, and repaired if needed by a professional, if not before then. Our In-House trained repair team know how to spot imperfections to prevent future damage and make sure your roof weathers the storms.
We're not interested in breaking your bank to pad ours. Our repair team relies on the strong relationships they build year after year to keep them busy. That's why they are separate from our re-roofing team. They will exhaust all repair options and only recommend a re-roof when absolutely needed. We even did a blog post to get you started on finding where the leak might be originating from- 5 Ways to Find a Leak.
Make sure to send us a message or give us a call if you don't want to bother with it anymore.
January 1st is usually a time when people get their budgets ready for the New Year 2014 and we can already see its going to be a busy year. We have a number of estimates already in the works. To make sure make sure your roofing project makes it on the top of our list for re-roof, maintenance, cleaning, or repair make sure to give us a call or send us an email with your request!

Achieving a rubber roof in cold temperatures can be challenging but we do what we can to get the job done!
The work never really stops with the weather. We work all year around. Getting the Alta/Aurelia school finished is our top priority right now and we just happened to make the news. We did a story on the Tornadoes that hit unexpectedly last October.
Update: Unfortunately the video is no longer available from the TV station.
I had a question about the benefits of steel and I wanted to post this article I found to go along with the article that I posted on Decra Stone Coated Steel a while back.
At JR Roofing we know how important it is to take a look out ahead while concentrating on the job at hand. With that in mind we are looking forward to what 2014 has to offer. Already we have a number of jobs loaded into the system and we are expecting many more to fill our plate.
Our busy season is right around the corner!
Make sure that for your roofing needs you call early in order to figure an estimate and see that your project is on our schedule during the time frame you prefer. With the current state of the economy, we are forecasting a great year for growth. The federal reserve has confirmed we are out of the recession and this is the first time the market in general has been in a normal state since prior to 2007. The media even says the Bull Market is just beginning so we are preparing to start riding the giant wave.

Merry Christmas' History
A little Wikipedia knowledge on the origin of Holiday Greetings:
Merry Christmas and Happy Christmas The greetings and farewells "Merry Christmas" and "Happy Christmas" are traditionally used in English-speaking countries, starting a few weeks before Christmas (25 December) each year.
A key component of Duro-Last's success has been the solid relationship they've established with their contractors and customers. Duro-Last is trusted because of the high quality of their product and the unmatched support.
10 Reasons Why Duro-Last is One of the Materials We Use on Roofs
The picture below is one of my favorite pictures. Look at all that rubber!
Over the years we have done many EPDM jobs. The choice to stick with Carlisle has never proved us wrong. This is a company that stands firmly behind their products and has a great history in the roofing business as well. For over 40 YEARS!
Our heart goes out to those with damage from the most recent tornadoes and extreme weather in the Northwest Nebraska and Western Iowa area! What a tragic and surprising ordeal!
Here is updated footage of the tornado damage and the work we have been doing to replace the roof for Alta/Aurelia Community schools. Brought to you by KCAU-TV.com. For more on roofing go to our recent Blog posts.
"100% Lifetime Material Warranty"
JR Roofing is a leader in proven quality roof contracting. Along with that drive to ensure excellence we make sure that we are applying the #1 roofing materials. A good majority of our customers have concerns with their roof lasting under adverse conditions, especially restaurants that deal with grease and other special circumstances. That is why we have chosen to use IB Roof Systems material with ChemGuard. As you can see below there are many advantages. Why not spend a little more on your roof and have the peace of mind that it will last for many years to come.
I wrote an article earlier that talked about how we were hiring but could not find employees to fill multiple positions. I also talked about how housing was really cheap in some of these small towns. The graphic above, provided by http://www.ariacahill.com, is pretty spot on but doesn't represent the small town housing prices of $20,000 to $100,000. Use the website, http://www.nwrealtyofiowa.com/, for a good example of the area our company is based out of. These are really some great places to live and raise families with great public schools. You can also find more information by searching JR Roofing, LeMars and Cleghorn, IA on http://www.yahoo.com/.
JR Roofing is proud to support small town growth in the Midwest where values and hard work are second to none.
50 year Decra Warranty (See more photos on the Decra website)
Time and time again people re-roof their houses with asphalt shingles thinking it is the “cheaper” option. Well that’s not all true. Shingles tend to crack, granules tend to run off, and some shingles need replaced around 20 years depending on the weather and climate it is used in. With stone coated steel you have a piece of mind that the steel will stand up to the tests of time.
Decra has been around since 1957 and the main reasons that people decide to use Decra besides not having to re-roof as often are:
· Transferable 50 Year Warranty
· Won’t crack, split or rot
· Impact resistant, lightweight, Non-combustible design (Class ‘A’ Material) Class 4 Impact Resistance to UL 2218 by Underwriters Laboratories (Highest Rating)
· Walkable, Low Maintenance
· Long Life, Non-Porous, Freeze/Thaw Resistant
· 120 MPH Wind Warranty
So you can see why JR Roofing has decided to make Decra Stone Coated Steel Roofing Systems one of their specialties. We believe in the product. If you don’t believe us, stop by the owners’ house to take a look. We take pride in what we install.

As hot as it has been outside lately we want to tell our employees how much we really appreciate the ones who are out there still getting the job done! The weather is always one to take a toll on the roofing business! This weekend have a great Labor Day! Enjoy your Bar-B-Ques, parties, and hanging out with family and friends!
When it comes to roofing it is about as close to a sport you can get. You've got the head coach and the assistant coach, which are the owners and the bookkeepers. The quarterback is your foreman and the main players can be anyone of the others. The quarterback takes the plays from the owners and then makes sure that he is ahead of the team when calling audibles to different jobs or laying out material for the rest of the team to get installed. When the team gets to knowing what they are doing there is always at least one that starts to shine. We'll call them the running back. The running back is the one that the quarterback has faith in getting the job done right when needed. In roofing that means that he is the one that goes through and checks each layer to make sure that is installed correctly or checks seams to make sure they have a strong weld.
When all of this comes together with all the other lineman then we have a great day on the roof. Now if we could just afford to pay some of those NFL pros to come and do roofs for us... Preseason is almost underway!

JR Roofing has been around since 1986 and we wouldn't be here without our great fan base! The map above shows just a small portion of the coverage we have been able to achieve through the basic keys to modern day roofing.
1. Doing the job right the first time, every time.
This is the main reason why we are staying on top of other roofing companies. We stand behind our word and make sure to listen to our customers so we know how they want the job done. Roofing can be very time sensitive so we make every effort to hiring new roofers when we need to get the job done.
Just like any other business, communication can be one of the most important areas when it comes to getting awarded a job, communicating the way the customer wants the job done, and letting the customer know the status of the current job and what to expect.
3. A Prompt and Reliable Repair Team
We take pride in our repairs. Admitted, some leaks can be difficult to locate at first when there are multiple layers. That is why we are sure to document the work we have done by before and after pictures. With documentation the customer is sure that when we go up on their roof we are working diligently to solve their problem. Our repair team also has a direct line to assure that as soon as you call they will be sure to give you a time frame for when they can get to you. Just ask for Kevin, head of our repair team.
4. Business Admin and Support
We know that our contractors and technicians can get very busy and might not be able to answer a phone while on certain roofs so we have set up a support system that is familiar with most of the jobs that we have done in the past, that are currently in progress, or that are coming up in the future. That way if you have a question, they can get you an answer.
5. Being Social and Keeping up with the Times
This past year we have joined the technology era with Facebook, Google+, and many other web based platforms including this Blog. We believe that this is the future of communication and that is where we want to be. It's not unusual for us to get a request for an estimate on Facebook, go to the site to measure, and return the estimate by email in a timely fashion. We love our advances in technology and expect to always be changing with the times.
These are just a few of the ways we expect to stay on top as one of the fastest growing roofing companies in our area. Of course, we can't give away all of our secrets. We've always found the contractor's forum at Contractor Talk to be helpful. We are willing to train new roofers all the time. We hope to some day find that certain person that wants to endure the long process themselves and become part of the JR family. Download an application and see what its all about.
